PDF conversion after Briss

Hi,

I've been searching on this for ages and finally decided to post.

I had a multi-column PDF. I used Briss to change it to one column, but when I convert from PDF to ePub, the sentences get rearranged so that it's completely unreadable. As an example, sentences within a paragraph will be moved to the bottom of the page.

Is this something that's easily fixable, or is it an issue with the source PDF?

Briss doesn't change it to one column. It renders it into an image and chops up the image. The text in the PDF is still multi-column.

Will a pdf splitter which allows you to cut a pdf file by command line help? try to find one in Google

One that actually rearranges the text will help. It won't matter if it is called via command line or a GUI.

Thanks for the info, I didn't realise that. Do you know of a converter that won't make it an image?

Or will Calibre support multi columns soon?

No, I dont know of any such converter. Multicol support is on my TODO list, but it has been on it for a long time.
