Anyone use Invisible Defender's Nokey Skins?
I have found a little bit about these from others, but the experiences seem to vary and the posters are not as reliable as people here.
Also, I can find no other skin that covers the keyboard and solved the deadly graphite keyboard letter wear problem. Are there other options? Thanks Last edited by chas0039; 05-31-2011 at 09:14 PM. |

I have one, and no, I have not found any other key-covering options. I bought one specifically to protect my Kindle keys, so I got a dark solid color that looks graphite in incandescent light but dark green in natural light. Picture attached.
I like mine. It took some getting used to because it's shiny. They have matte skins but I've heard they are quite flimsy because they have one less layer, so I went with the regular type. After having it on a few weeks, I no longer really notice it. It was pretty easy to put on, although the back was a little trickier than the front because of the curve where the speakers are. The front is flatter, and easier to line up because of side buttons and cutout for the D-pad. When you first put it on, the area around the keys looks a little strange, but after a few days it kind of settles in and looks better. I don't think the pieces over the page turn buttons will last because I catch myself fiddling with the edges while I'm reading, but if you're not the type to pick at things you won't have that issue. |

Thanks much, especially for the tip on the matte v. shiny.

Mine ripped in the upper corners around the screen when trying to remove and reposition it. Best to get it on perfect the first time.

I like mine. I don't care about pretty, my Kindle is in a case anyway, but the fading keys were a problem and if they weren't the high-contrast, bigger key caps on the NoKey is great.
I did get mine on a bit cockeyed. Hey, I'm not handy, but it works fine. Some day I'll get another one and try again. |
