Hello World

As a bibliophile I have mixed feelings about e-readers. I love them, but I also love being surrounded by books. I love being able to carry a library without needing a chiropractor, but I also love the feel of a book in my hands, the crisp pages, the smell of the paper. Either way, I'm committed. I buy books both for my kindle and for my bookshelves, often the same title.

At any rate, I'm here to introduce myself, and I suppose by extension my writing. My name is Jon Goff, and I'm the author of the The Rune that Binds. Available on the Kindle and the Nook, in epub format.

I don't want this to be a post that's all about self promotion, but the fact is I'm a writer and I suppose it should be part of the introduction.

I have to admit that I've been around and participating in electronic books for some time. My first reader was the Sony Data Discman, and I have had a reader in one form or another on my pocket pc, computer, and laptop for the last twenty years. I had the Sony reader for a while, but found it cumbersome to read one handed, and the buttons were placed in an awkward location.

I now have a Kindle and I'm going to be picking up a Nook soon. I'm excited that the technology has finally arrived to allow for the truly portable library.

Hi Jon and welcome to MobileRead. Most of us felt like you about the feel of regular books. But, as you'll soon learn, you quickly get addicted to eBooks.
