Are Kindle and Nook chargers interchangable?

It seems to be possible; the output for the chargers is the same; the cables seem to be the same; given that both charge through a USB connection to the computer, it would appear as though the wiring should be the same.

I just want to get some confirmation from someone with more expertise before I give it a try.

Thanks

as long as they use the same connector (micro USB), it's fine...

the dongle that "converts" USB -> wall charger will work for any USB device too

I can charge both devices using the same cable with my Palm Pre charger as well as with my universal USB-charger (USB2Go). Hence, i would say "yes.".

I've found my Kindle charges reasonable well with any USB power source I've given it -- cell phone car charger, iPod charger, little USB/AC adapter that I found on eBay.

Perhaps some charge more efficiently that others, but all have given me battery dots when I needed it.

Unlike our Apple devices, which are horribly particular about what power source is on the end of that usb cable, and what cable is used, and unlike my Motorola phone with it's 'Unauthorized charger' nonsense

I've been using the same charger for most all of my portables. The one that came with my Blackberry works perfect for all of them. K3, phone, blackberry (alarm clock), mp3 player... Haven't run into any issues at all.

Yes, they are. I use Kindle/Nook/Nook Color/Sony PRS-350/HTC Evo 4G cables interchanginly. Any micro-USB charger works.

I've also used iPhone/iPad wall adapter with micro-USB cables to charge all aforementioned gadgets

Much thanks guys. I thought this would be the case, but sometimes these assumptions can cause real trouble.
