Auto-run and close calibre

Is there a way (or a terminal command) to run the calibre jobs that fetch my newsfeeds and email them to my kindle?

Currently, I have to manually open calibre, wait 10 mins for the jobs to finish, then close them.

You can use the CLI commands. Call ebook-convert with the name of a recipe file as input, then send the file via calibre-smtp. If you want the news items in your library, use calibredb. Bundle the above in a script and call that using your OS's scheduler.
