Over 200 books "new" in I'm Reading

I used the Desktop app to upgrade the software to 1.9.

Then used Calibre to add some additional books, and while they do show up in the Books library, they also show up in the "I'm Reading" and are marked as "New".

I know I could individually Close each book, but is there a better way?

as long as the books aren't opened they should disappear by themselves. Give it time. I forget how long it takes for the kobo to put "new" books into the regular library

Really? I've never seen a NEW book move by itself from the I'm Reading section. They stay until they're removed.

I've had NEW books migrate to the regular library. I don't sync through the desktop app, though, but through Calibre and ADE. I don't know if that would make a difference.

If you haven't opened them, they should move from I'm Reading to just Books, the next time you sync with your computer.

Or, I think, if you are using Calibre, you can edit the collections - if you want it out of I'm Reading, change the collection to blank.

All new books added will show up initially in the I'm Reading view by design. They should be 'removed' the next time you power off and restart the Kobo - if that does not work then try reconnecting to the computer and 'manage' the kobo then disconnect.

I only have my own Kobo as an example, but I purchased three books about a month ago and they still show in the I'm Reading section as new - and I certainly want them to remain there until I've read them. I wouldn't want them to get lost in the large Books section.

Remember they changed the status handling of the eReader in V1.9.

I've gotten books since 1.9 and they migrated to the Books folder automatically

Having a similar problem...

My "I'm Reading" had only one book listed. Then I used calibre to send two books to the devices' main memory. Now 484 books show up in the "I'm Reading".

I have tried powering the device off/on, several times - books still show.

Anyone know what file I can manually delete to remove the "I'm Reading" list so it creates an empty one?

Try syncing your kobo with calibre, and then ejecting it again. You don't need to add or remove any books. This should remove the new unopened books from your I'm Reading section.

I tried it with my kobo just to double check and it moved the new books I had.

I am glad to have read this!

I am new.

I just bought my Kobo a few weeks ago, and since then I have bought a few books, and also have eagerly downloaded favorite titles from Gutenberg and from these forums (I really appreciate the volunteers who make these available - I am really getting into the classics!). Once I downloaded over 50 titles (Dickens, Wodehouse, Montgomery, etc) and I thought my hand would fall off clicking "remove from list" for each separate title.

I followed the instructions above, and voila
