I want my ebook reader to be able to stand the kind of (sometimes) rough treatment my pbooks do, i.e. not worry about breakage. Touchscreen bathroom mirror? I think I can do without that for a little longer.

I'm pretty sure the glass will get more and more durable as technology advances.
However, I saw a lot of stuff that I have no interest in buying, but no doubt lots of companies would love to sell because of the potential for additional markup. |

all that screen tech and she still has to drive the vehicle manually? I want auto-drive before I want "smart glass/ceramics". But that is just me after having driven over 1M miles in my life already. I am done shifting and signaling for a left turn...let the other guy figure out what I am going to do (hahaha, just JOKING about signaling, for the over officious and sanctimonious fans of Judging Amy out there.

Looks like an interesting concept. I'd just be fairly wary of how to handle one. I can somewhat "beat up" some of my devices. I wouldn't expect to be able to do the same thing with display glass. But, I would definitely like to at least play with one and get some user feedback (assuming it ever sees the light of day).

Actually in the short term electronic book owners are expecting new models due to new chips recently made available, the new readers will have better screen resolution and longer battery life due to reduced power consumption requiremetns of the new chips.

Looks cool as a concept video. On a more practical note, not happening in this household. It simply wouldn't survive us. I can also just see the cat jumping up on that stove and turning it on. Nope, I wouldn't feel safe surrounded by that.

all these things are just conceptual and not very practical.
there's a reason why we are all not using touchscreen monitors right now: it causes 'gorilla arm' after just a few minutes. a mouse is a great invention. ![]() |

C'mon....gets in the car and enters stuff by touch? What's up with that? We've already jumped beyond that to voice recognition. It just needs a bit of refining.
And driving to a meeting? (nevermind the crap VW) I thought that the whole 'home office thing' of the future is networking from home, like the hubby was doing? Hell, you won't even need to get out of bed. WE |

I would like to try one of the new touchscreens, like Dell is selling in their all-in-one desktop config. I still can't imagine using it on a regular basis, though. It would be fun for a few minutes, then give me back my mouse. |
