Problems with mobi2html.exe
Hi there, when I unpack this file (attached below), it inserts random sentences/words in places, but it doesn't in calibre (I don't know if they use different algorithms).
Anyway, here is the file is in the attachments (pg71.mobi = On the duty of civil disobedience); it's from project guttenburg, although I expect that is of little help since, as I stated above, it can be read perfectly with calibre. Any help appreciated. ![]() (Edit: here's the output) Last edited by Laststando59; 04-21-2011 at 04:49 PM. |

Hi Laststando59, welcome to MobileRead!
I must admit that I don't have any problems to unpack your file with mobi2html.exe. What is the exact command that you're typing in? And may I ask why do you want to unpack? If you simply want to have the hmtl-file you can download it from Project Gutenberg, too. |

Sorry, my question is a bit misleading. I wrote that I could not unpack the file; I actually ment there were some bugs in the output (Added to the first post). :P
It's 90% okay, but it seems to insert some random sentences/words in places. Here's a few examples: Quote:

I've tried a couple of --options, --rawhtml and --mobihtml. Judging by what I've read in other places, I'm suspecting it's using a different charset that mobi2html seems to stumble on. Last edited by Laststando59; 04-21-2011 at 12:45 PM. |

Yes, I see what you mean. Such thoroughly I didn't examine the file after reading your first post, sorry.
That's a little bit strange. Maybe Tompe sees this thread and can explain it. By the way, the html-file at gutenberg.org that has most probably been the source of the mobi file doesn't have these additional words. |

You could also try MobiUnpack. Last edited by DiapDealer; 04-22-2011 at 01:46 PM. |
