Never the twain

I've been keeping out of Where Did It All Go So Wrong? because it seemed to be getting a touch bitter and twisted. Some interesting ideas, though. One which caught my eye was the suggestion that a writer's persona/reputation in the forum might affect sales.

This got me wondering how many of us who hang out in Writers' Corner have actually contributed ebooks to the MobileRead library. I myself have uploaded half a dozen or so, but nearly all of them under another name because I thought they might distract people from the "real business". Perhaps I got that completely wrong.

Damn. By now I could be all round Mr best-selling Nice Guy. But probably not.

It does sometimes seem that there are two forums here - readers and writers - and never the twain shall meet. Which would explain a lot.
