Greetings from ABQ
Long time user of mobile ereaders (Palm based, and when I first signed up to these fora) and recently bought a Kobo at the local Borders that is closing up (the other, and closer, one is staying for now). Been away a long time
Exploring what I can do and how best to format materials from Project Gutenberg and Baen (and others) for best reading on Kobo. Next stop is to download Calibre and see what I can do with it. |

@GeoffC
Well, I first joined the forum those many years ago when I was trying to read on a Palm TX (and ruining my eyesight doing so) and the apps (MobiRead?, among others) made it an even less pleasant experience, so I kinda lost interest. As I said above, I recently picked up a Kobo eReader Wireless at Borders, searched on it, found the forum and went looking at my password storage to create a login, and found I already had one... Signed in, and immediately got a notice that I had never introduced myself (and not wanting to be nagged by the site software in future that I still hadn't) took care of it. Seemed easiest ;D Not sure what I will do with the Kobo, other than the obvious (reading), but I do love good hacks, and per this (and other) sites, I've downloaded Calibre and I can see that is going to make organizing books a whole lot easier. @SneakySnake ABQ = Albuquerque, New Mexico - where Bugs Bunny always makes that wrong turn and home of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta (ABQ is the airport code). |
