				New E-Readers Store in NYC

We just opened a new brick-and-mortar store (OK, a kiosk only

), in New York City. Located in Brooklyn, NY at 229 Brighton Beach Ave. Selling and servicing mostly PocketBooks (as that is mostly Russian-speaking area of NYC, and PocketBook is a know brand among Russian and Ukrainian readers), but also some other brands: Boox, Pandigital, Sony, and the new are coming. Those folks who live near our place - welcome to come over - we open every day except Monday from 10 AM till 7 PM. I'll post some pictures next time I don't forget to take them))) |

The three dominant book readers are: Kindle, Nook Color then the Sony PRS readers in that order. Is it a good idea to specialize in the Pocket Book when that is not even one of the top three dominant readers? Personally I have never looked at a Pocket Book reader or spoken with owners of the pocket book, so I am going to with hold any opinions that I may have about the reader.

@jbcohen: with Yar-PocketBooker's target audience, he needs to offer readers that provide support for Cyrillic and the fb2 book format. And then Pocketbook and Onyx are the best.

Also, please remember that the readers you mention are dominant in the US only. In the rest of the world you cannot even buy the Nook, and the Kindle does not support the dominant book format in those places (e.g. epub in Western Europe, fb2 in Russia). For instance, here in the Netherlands, Sony and BeBook seem to be dominant. And the BeBook readers are rebranded Onyx readers. In Russia, Pocketbook is the number one, and Onyx the number two on the official market. And finally, "dominant" does not mean "the best". Perhaps Yar-PocketBooker just wants to go for quality. |

exactly dominant does not mean the best and pocketbook while full of promise has a long way to go before it stops disappointing its customers by ignoring them. For a world wide product they are still mostly focused on Russian audiences. Congratulation on the new store Yar. |
