Kindle Game Dusk World Now Under Three Bucks

If you were considering trying out Dusk World ($2.99), an interactive fiction game for Kindle by Amazon Digital Services (their only non-free entry, so far), but were put off by the old price of $5.99, you might want to grab it while it's marked at half that. There is no indication if this is a new, permanent low price or a limited time offer, but it was still $5.99 when I checked it last week.

Book Description
Dusk World is an interactive fiction game for Kindle devices that combines interactivity with a graphic novel. The story takes place in Dusk City and combines crime, mystery, superhero and classic noir elements to create a vivid landscape full of colorful characters for you to interact with.

As Agent Patriot - super-powered chameleon, reformed mob enforcer, war hero, convict framed for double murder - you must explore the gritty underworld of Dusk City in an effort to clear your name and find out who set you up. You must find the right path through the game in order to save Dusk City, the world, and yourself.

Experience and enjoy the captivating escapades of Agent Patriot firsthand in this thrilling initial installment of the Living Tales series.

Please note: Dusk World contains content that may be inappropriate for children.

Looks a bit like a game based on the old hardboiled detective world ala Raymond Chandler in a way.

I went ahead and got it. Some days I don't mind using my brain a bit when I read (other days, I want to turn it off or give it a rest).

No. What Chandler (and Hammett, who really started it) brought to it was realism (Hammett was a detective, a Pinkerton for several years and wrote using his experience). Not something like:

Which is purely comic book.

What they wrote about - political and police corruption, organized crime, etc is the real world.

Touche. I meant the images seem to make me think of the detectives like Spade and others. At least the movie versions. Of course a game has limits to what it can present and still be playable especially when on a device like the Kindle. So they make the dialogue simple. Basically it seems to be a CYOA with graphics, but that's ok. I like the old CYOA media.
