PRS-650 alternate cases

Since there seems to be a distinct lack of 650 cases out there, which repurposed cases fit the 650? I picked up an older PRS-300 case which does work but the device doesn't fit great. I have converted planners and the like into cases. I cut out a Moleskine sketchbook as a case (which is quite nice but I have to remove it to sync it with my computer).

Some one posted in another thread that the Nook cases work well for the 950 but is seems that the 650 is a pretty unique size. has someone found a case/cover for another device that works well?

Just ordered this one here. Looks fine, will update and tell how it fits when I get it.

It is also available in black and what I liked about it is the matching interior color. There is a similar Tuff-luv one, but that has a black interior, which I don't understand why they did that and is also considerably more expensive. If it weren't black inside I would have forked out.

Those are great. Have the red one for my 350 (and a green SonyCover, a blue lighted SonyCover.. ähm, well, umm, we like to dress up for the occasion)

There is also Noreve.

I picked up a m-edge go jacket for the 600 off ebay for very little money and the 650 fits quite well - it's obviously slightly too big but the staps hold the reader securely enough. I have since then acquired and modified a small journal from Oberon because I like their stuff too much

Real leather, great price and fits the 650 like a glove. What else to ask?!

I have the bookstyle cover for the 350 by this manufacturer and mine does not fit very well. Have to use adhesive band to prevent the device from constantly slipping out. As the upper rim is open it is sliding out when closed all the time, i.e. in my bag or when put down with a downward angle, without the band aid.

Nice to hear yours is done better!

This is why I looked at Igadgitz and Tuff-luv for my 650. But in the end, the Sony covers are adorable with their hinges. The covers are extremly flat, thus adding no bulk to the reader and the device buttons etc are naked. Altough I have to admit it won't do for a backpack. I wonder if this technique is copyrighted because no one else has adopeted the style.

Thank you for the offer but I want something with a bit more protection than the official ones. They tend to not provide much in the way of screen protection. I have noticed that across the board with all the ereader companies. My guess is they want you to break it so you buy another one.

Being an avid ereader household (2 PRS-505, 1 PRS-600, 2 PRS-300, 1 PRS-650 and one Nook wifi), we try to protect our devices well and make them last as long as possible. The only ones that are no longer with us is my old 505 which I dropped and my wife's Nook which she sold to go back to the 505.

I am currently using the Case Logic EVA case for the 300. it hold it in quite well but the insert does not fit the 650. I pulled the insert out which, while it does allow the device to fit in flush, it slides around. I am thinking at this point to use a polycarbonate reinforcement from one of my many homebrew 505 cases and get some adhesive foam sealing strip for doors to pad around it. Before this, I really liked my 'booksafed' Moleskine sketch book but it was difficult to get to the power switch and i had to remove it to charge or sync it. The Moleskine is a hard cover so it provides a good amount of protection.

I am considering the CoverUp one that umpi posted. It is available in the US on eBay starting around $24 for the synthetic leather (read as vinyl) cover.

The Cover-up offer great protection as they are stiff and well padded. I think they are great. Only thing is, mine is too loose. Hope you get one that fits better than mine! Good luck!

Or you buy the one I ordered at Amazon. Same style, real leather, the interior is a soft suede style microfiber, where as the Cover up has cloth and Amazon service...

Danke, Poppaea.

I now have it on my Amazon wish list. In the mean time, I made an insert for the Case Logic 300 case by cutting a piece of filler foam from my wife's iPad case to fit the space and then cut out the center to fit the 650. I then glued the foam to a stiffener for the back. It fits like a glove now.

Edited to add pic.

I was looking at some of the nook covers and was thinking I could use one with the 650 if I used a couple of pieces of velcro and put the soft loop side on the back of my reader and the hook side on the cover itself. The reader is about 2 inches shorter than the nook. The bottom of the nook case craddles the reader nicely and allows for the reader to be charged and gives full access to the top of the reader. You might even be able to use a thin stiff piece plastic and velcro your reader to it and use the elastic bands in the corners to secure the plastic board.

The igadgitz case just arrived. It is a thight fit, the Sony won't even move a bit when shaked upside down and won't slip out of it regardless how vicious I shake it.

It oozes a vile smile but this seems to come from the interior faux leather. Functions are great and the colour (got the pink one) is a wonderful bright rosy pink. I am very happy with it. The original Sony case in silver will arrive tomorrow.

That might be my favorite word substitution ever -- mind if I steal it? My sister-in-law's from Berlin and I love her morbid sense of humor -- we bonded over the idea of blowing soap bubbles in a graveyard -- but she's never said anything quite that good.
