Cover for nook?

Hi,

I'm looking for an inexpensive front cover for the nook like the Industriell model sold by B&N. - http://gifts.barnesandnoble.com/Indu...?cds2Pid=36189

The nook just snaps it. It covers the front but not the back. You can hold the front cover and the nook itself. It feels just like a book.

You can fold the front cover behind the nook to attach a book light. It's pretty nice. But I don't have the $25 to spend for it right now.

Is there anything similar out there with the same attributes that is no so expensive?

I would try to see if I could find the same cover at a cheaper price on eBay. I've never seen that cover before.

If you can't find that at a cheaper price maybe something like this would work:
http://gifts.barnesandnoble.com/Neop...?cds2Pid=35723

Also, some of the Jack Spade/Kate Space covers are on sale for 75% off. I paid $19.95 for my black Jack Spade Cover.

I love my Jack Spade cover and for 75% off it was well worth it. Very high quality leather and an awesome inside design.

aagstn,

I don't understand.

Are you suggesting I purchase this cover or are you just bragging a wee bit about the lovely and expensive cover you bought?

What would make you think I could afford almost $50 for the cover you're telling me about when I've already said I can't afford to spend even $25?

Yes, the cover you bought is pretty and a heck of a deal. I mean after all it's marked down from $195 to a mere $48. Wowee!

What would you tell a guy who asked you to suggest an inexpensive restaurant because he's hungry but almost broke?

Would you send him someplace that was having a daily special on a steak dinner that was normally $200 but marked down to 'only' $50?

Of course you wouldn't.

Or maybe you would.

Yeah, sorry for the misunderstanding. I was just seconding the Jack Spade suggestion since they are all 75% off and showing the one I got. You didn't have to get that one as they have several for $20. I didn't realize I was dealing with someone so sensitive or I would have written a 400 word post to make sure you understood that you didn't specifically have to get that one and that other people with Nooks may also look in on the post and not know that all the Jack Spade covers are 75% off. I hope you will somehow find a way to get over this tremendous insult to your poverty and find someway to move forward with your life.

In my opinion all purchased covers are overpriced. Including simple sleeves. Do you have, or know ayone who has a sewing machine? An old pair of jeans, shelf liner and parts of a place mat made up a really protective sleeve for my Nook.
I know it doesn't fit you criteria of a snap-on, bookstyle or whatever cover, but sometimes you just have to accept you can't get what you want for what you want when you want it.

You know what else works well? I bought some pillowcases last year from Walmart (Canopy brand) (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Canopy-Sim...-White/8054250) and the pillowcases came in these nice fabric drawstring bags.

The bags were a bit bigger than my Nook Classic, but turn them inside out and take in about a quarter of an inch of fabric, and they were good to go.

The cheaper ones seem to be in the $20-30 price range, tbh. I have the Chesterton one but it is $29 or so.

If you're at all skilled at crafts (knitting, sewing, etc.) you could make your own I guess.

aagstn,

Thanks for the advice.

And thank you for giving me a gander at your $195 cover that was marked down to $48. I know I appreciated it and other mobileread members probably did too. It sure is a beauty!

You've probably shown it to all your friends by this time too, right? Wait a minute. Do you have any friends?

I heard you've been stopping strangers on the street to show your cover to them. And I heard it caused you a problem with the law.

But it all came out OK, right? Probation, court costs, a little fine and a stern warning from the judge. No big deal. Just move forward with your life.

Last thing. Download a book on how to write.

You don't seem to know when to start or end a paragraph. (Hint: Start or end a paragraph when there is a change in topic or subject).

You also seem prone to run-on sentences. This is a sign of borderline illiteracy.

Here, I'll show you. I'll insert paragraphs where you should have:

"Yeah, sorry for the misunderstanding.

(Run-on sentence)

I hope you will somehow find a way to get over this tremendous insult to your poverty and find someway to move forward with your life."

See how your inane ramblings are somewhat easier to understand in this form?

Well that's about it. You take care now.

Your impecunious pal,

Marvin

You feel all better now? Glad you were able to get that out of your system. Now if you can just find a job you can finally get a cover to go with your nook.

Try www.etsy.com and do a search for nook covers. If you organize results by price, you will see some decent sleeves and covers for as low as 10.00, with a wide range of types, prints and colors for all budgets

Amazon is worth searching as well. They don't sell the nook but the have several covers under $20 from third party sellers.
