Renaming files/books on reader library

I have been trying to rename my ebooks on the Sony Reader Library because when I import the files, the name changes.

Let me explain why I want to do that. I have a series of ebooks from one author. It is named in ordered. When I import the files, some (not all) of the books, the name has completely changed and I'm not sure which book it is. Some of them doesn't even give the title of the book, just the author's name. I have tried going into the properties in the epub/pdf file and changing the name then importing it again, it is still the same name as before. It didn't take my change. It's driving me crazy, please help

You are probably not managing to change the actual metadata associated with the file.

You can change a file's metadata using Calibre, or another piece of freeware called PDF Info. I'm sure there are other options out there too.

However, DRM limits may prevent you making any changes at all. A solution then might be to set up a separate collection for books from this author.

If you are working with PDFs, another program that you can try is "BeCyPDFMetaEdit." It allows you to edit the metadata on PDFs. Before moving over to Calibre, I used it to edit a PDF's metadata before loading it in the Reader Library.

Unfortunately, no. I haven't made much use of the epub format with my ebook reader. I use PDF as my format of choice for ebooks, mainly because it gives me the ability to control the formatting of my ebooks.
