Bookmarks in the Kobo e-reader?

I'm confused - I thought the Kobo had bookmarks other than remembering the last page/book I was reading? I was in Chapters this afternoon playing with one but I couldn't find anything in the menus about bookmarks. Is this feature going to be added?

No bookmarks, no page history and no way to go to a specific page.

I'd say navigation needs work still....hopefully it's happening.

Hi, I work at Kobo. We are definitely going to include additional bookmarking functionality in both the original Kobo Reader and Kobo Wireless Reader, but there is no support in the current firmware.

Do you have an ETA for this? This will help me decide which reader to get. Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I can't give you a date that I can 100% stick to. We are planning to add it before the end of the year, but frankly I wouldn't make your buying decision based on that, as I wouldn't want to miss your expectations.

However I can promise direct access to awesome Kobo staff via these forums if that helps

To be honest, if the Kobo had bookmarks and collections and a more mature store, I'd probably buy one. I really want to support a Canadian (or at least one part of the Kobo conglomerate!) company.

Thanks - I appreciate the feedback. We're working on improving both the features of the device and the store. Our only obstacle is time!

I am also looking at the wifi kobo as an addition to my jetbook. The only thing holding me back at this time is the lack of the "go to page" feature.

Any development on this? I just bought a Kobo and there does not appear to be any bookmark or go to page functionality... Aren't these the most basic things you do when you read a book?

goto was just added to the recent firmware. Not sure where they are in terms of bookmarking.

Kobo WiFi has go to function in version 1.9. Both have bookmarks--but only only one per book. The original Kobo has had one biggish update since the Kobo-2 was released. I have no idea if there will ever be another.
