Question: Can I fix a Nook ebook?

I have an ipad and Nook app, as well as Calibre.

I wanted to edit a very bad Nook (free) copy of John Dover Wilson's 1918 two essays "The copy for Hamlet 1603, and the Hamlet transcript 1593" but don't know IF it can be done, or HOW to do it, let alone WHERE the darn ebook is, since Calibre seems not to recognized any of my Nook ebooks. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Any tips or pointers to other threads are appreciated.

The Nook ePubs probably have DRM (encryption). There are 3rd party plugins for Calibre that strip DRM when you import an B&N (say) ebook. See Apprentice Alf's Blog for more info on DRM issues. Note that in the US, editing an ebook to fix errors is a fair use that very likely makes stripping DRM legal (for such personal fair uses).

Once DRM free, you might be able to use Calibre's ePub tweak option (right click on an ebook with ePub and select tweak). Or use a full editor editor like Sigil.

Thank you, wallcraft. I'll try the link you supplied and I hope I can fix the ebook easily. If it's too complicated, I'll just learn to live with the bad copy I have.
