Smile Hi!

Hi everyone. I’ve just joined the forums, though I've been lurking for a while now.

I've started reading eBooks in my pda years ago, and I'm currently using my bookeen cybook opus (and sometimes even my android smartphone...) to get my daily reading fix.

I'm Portuguese, and unfortunately there's still not much of an eBook market over here in Portugal. Most publishers are still clinging to their dead tree business model, and there are really not many places to get eBooks in my native language yet.

Fortunately, I always try to read in the authors’ original language if I'm able, and nowadays I'm currently reading mostly in English - well, I'm a huge fantasy and sci-fi nerd, so...

Nice to meet y'all!

Good to have your company, BB. On the grapevine, I hear that ebooks in Portuguese are taking of big-time in Brazil now. Have you taken a look at any online ebook sites based there rather than in Portugal itself? Good luck and very best wishes. Neil

Yes, it seems so. Unfortunately there are too many differences between european and brazilian portuguese to be a viable option. Most of the times, it tends to be rather annoying reading in brazilian portuguese (and I know that for the most part, that's mostly true for brazilians reading in european portuguese too). Unless we are talking about a language I'm not comfortable with (german, for instance), I'd rather stick to the original language.

But I'll check them out anyway. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, it's pretty annoying reading in brazilian portuguese.

I just found a blog - http://ebookportugal.net/ - that has some free e-books in portuguese, even if they are rather unknown, but it's still something good .
