Series Number in Book title (Kindle)

Hi All
I think I saw a post where some one gave instructions to add the series number into the title for books on the Kindle. Something like this:

[2] Startide Rising

Where the [2] indicated that it is the 2nd book in the series.

But I can't find the post.

Can anyone help me out on this?

You could use a metadata plugboard.

Since this article there have been things added like GUI Plugins which I don't know anything about.

The metadata plgboard info is contained in Library Management thread of Calibre. The other is contained in the Plugins thread.

Can the series plugboard be used for books already in your library or will it only work for new additions? Thanks.

You may have to re-send the books to your Kindle, but that shouldn't be a problem as it usually just overwrites what's already there. If you do end up w/ 2 copies, Calibre will show you in the "On Device" column, and you can just switch over to your Kindle and delete the older of the two.
