PDF reader

Hi, I am looking for a PDF ereader that allows me to export the highlighted text. When I read PDF files, often I need to highlight important parts. I hope the ereader can automatically save the highlighted text into a separate file, so I can just read that file to review the main points of the original article. Which ereader should I buy? Thank you.

Hi pj123, I've written a factor for HowToDecide's Which ereader should I buy? regarding PDF and ereaders, but I've not come across the export to a separate file feature that you seek.

You can do that with an iPad and GoodReader. The 1st time that you highlight or make a comment, it gives you the option to create a separate PDF file and that one saves the additional comments. Not so sure if you can export the comments only.

On Android, you can also use RepliGo, but I have not checked about the exporting option either.

In my opinion, RepliGo and GoodReader are the best PDF applications right now. Their work on Android and iOs, on that order.

PocketBook 902/903 does exactly what you are looking for. It creates a separate HMTL file with all the highlighted text(called "Notes") orderly sorted in it. You can access them inside the reader through the "Contents" button or open(copy) the html file in(to) your pc.

Anything that will run (the inferior) Microsoft Journal. There is a (superior) knockoff called Xournal. Most Linux-based devices can run Xournal.

I've just learned that Xournal is available (through sourceforge) for Windows. It's amazingly good on my Samsung Q1 Ultra.
