where to post?
This is my first post on MobileRead.
![]() I have a website where there will be a bunch of documents. Currently they can be viewed as web pages, or downloaded as a combined zip file containing html. But I would like to add the ability for people to download them in some ebook format(s?) Some documents may originate in bizarre internal formats, but they will all go through html at some point so that's a common input format for my purposes. I'm guessing that Calibre is the tool that I need, but I'm extremely bad at installing new packages. And since I do my development on a Windows system that has a local apache server, and the website is hosted on a linux system, it seems like it might be a tough deal to install a large package on two different systems. If there was a single format that all readers could use that would be great and I would probably take the time to write a conversion, but I'm getting the idea that the ebook format world is currently a mess with no one format being universally accepted. Anyone have comments/suggestions? (You know, aside from "go fish!") TIA! |

Most ebooks are in either mobi or epub - Calibre will do both from HTML, though depending on your files, perhaps Sigil may also be a help ....
