Can I buy a Amazon Gift Card for myself?

Can I buy a Amazon Gift card and use it to add funds to my own gift card balance?

I'm asking because I have to pay an exchange fee each time I purchase a Kindle book in British pounds because my currency is the Euro. This exchange fee is a minimum of 46 cent which is a significant amount if I buy a book for 99p. If I buy a gift card, I pay one exchange fee instead of paying fees every time I buy a book. I think this should reduce the costs to me significantly especially with cheaper books.

I do because I don't like a lot of small credit card charges. I just buy $100 giftcards and email them to myself and replenish as needed.

Yep! That's also what Amazon tells you to do to be able to use credit card reward points for digital purchases, since you can't use them directly like you can for physical purchases.
