Sick of the nook

I have a nook, it's been a year now. I have an astak ezreader pro too. Here are the things I would like to see: 6 inch eInk. 5 is not quite enough. ePub and PDF support. Good PDF reflow. Plenty of zoom options (both the nook and the astak is not quite there). Good battery life (nook's touchscreen kills it). Some decent supply of books. I won't touch the Kindle, it's the evil incarnate and don't try to convince me otherwise, thanks. Price I can't care less, I read tons and physical books are a bad fit when I am traveling all the time.

Edit: if there would be a keyboard, it'd be bliss. Wireless is not too important.

I suggest the Sony PRS-650, or perhaps the 7" PRS-950. These have the higher contrast Pearl screen and relatively good PDF support. The touch screen is a new technology that does not obstruct the screen, and it uses an on-screen keyboard (e.g. for notes).

That 950 looks *amazing*. I missed it 'cos I did not check the wiki "large format" devices but it's not larger than the nook (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...71&postcount=8) and people praise the PDF capabilities https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...78&postcount=2 . Also I can't miss the fact that it has a MS slot which is quite useful 'cos my camera is using MS but a proprietary cable and so I can ditch the cable or the MS card reader.

The 950 really is great. There are some complaints about the font (I don't have any issues with it), and there's a big jump from small to medium sized text (choices are xs, s, m, l, xl, I usually read on small). Its battery life is about 2 weeks. The browser's good (not great, but just fine), the touchscreen's amazing. You can write notes with the stylus (a little slow, and you have to write kind of big) or with a keyboard (also a little slow, but it keeps up). Double-tapping to look up a word in the dictionary is one of my favorite features, and swiping to turn pages is effortless.

If you're near a Best Buy, try it out. From your preferences it seems like it would be a good fit.

Kindles have keyboards. For note-taking and copying passages to the "My Clippings" text file (easily downloaded to your computer via USB), it's superb. It all depends in what you're looking for in a device.
