Page turn speeds by font size?

I just got a Kindle 3 about four days ago. Love it so far.

One complaint: I usually read on the smallest font, and the pages usually transition in maybe 1 second, but at night I like to increase the font size once, which makes the page turn take 2-3 seconds. For the first 5-6 font sizes this trend continues of faster/slower turning.

Is this normal? I've experimented on a few different books (and even the Amazon Welcome file) and this seems to be standard on my device. I'm wondering if I got a buggy unit or if this is to be expected (if so, why?)?

If relevant: v3.0.2 (not jailbroken) with WiFi.

Sounds like there may be something wrong with your Kindle, I can confirm that on any text size mine changes pages at the same speed, under a second.

Edit: Firmware I have used was original 3.0.2 (probably not the one you have as the one currently shipped seems to be an updated version of 3.0.2) and curently on the new 3.1

What Barneyabz said. Its not normal that it takes 2-3 seconds to flip pages. Talk to Kindle CS.
