Broke my Kindle

I broke my Kindle. Two days ago, when I was sleeping, I got up in the middle of the night to drink some water (and to lose some, probably). As I was lifting myself up, and since the Kindle was lying next to me naked, it came between my hand and the bed and within that one second that you take to get up, it was broken,.......

Now, I am in India and getting a replacement is a pain and more so for the physical damages. Fortunately, one of my friends was going to US yesterday. I gave him the Kindle. He will give it to my girlfriend and she will try and get a replacement.

aaaarrrrghhhhhhh.... sorry, just venting..... Stupid me..... I had to break ONE gadget in my life that does not have a local support.......

I already have a cover. I just like to read from the sleek device without the cover when I am at home. I guess, I got my lesson..

Actually, I doubt a cover (unless made like a Sherman tank) would save a kindle from the pressure and twisting forces of concentrating a a body's weight into a hand applied to the kindle. Glad you are getting it replaced.

Pretty amazing they are going to replace it, I've only had mine a few days and keep falling asleep with it in my hand while reading haha. Each morning I almost expect to have broke it while sleeping.

Going to have to break the old habit of falling asleep with a book in my hand

Good for you! I lay my kindle down on the floor UNDER my bed. But I think from now on I will slip it in its cover. Wouldn't take my weight, but I would be more apt to notice it.

Amazon rocks! Congrats on your knew Kindle.

Most other companies would have laughed if you asked for a replacement in those circumstances.

Perhaps a nightstand is in order?

I've been sleeping with Kindles for 3 years now and *knocks wood* thus far between myself, dogs, cats, and ummm.... well anyway... no broken kindles! ;o)
