Location of settings
I had a difficult time with Calibre today on my Arch Linux installation. I installed 7.42-1 and imported a batch of epub books. Everything seemed to work fine. I had imported the same batch on my Windows and Sabayon machines, so I know the books are clean. I then imported a second batch of books. After that whenever I tried to open the Viewer a window would appear briefly and then disappear. I can no longer view any of my epub books. I tried the calibredb commands to check and restore the library. I tried saving to disk, deleting and then re-importing, and then finally I tried uninstalling and importiing the first clean batch again. Still the problem persists. Are there settings stored somewhere on my machine that I can clean out so that I can get a fresh install without any previous errors clouding the picture?

Once the directory is opened quit calibre. This folder contains all of your settings. If you want to start fresh simply delete this directory. Any plugins or settings you may have entered will be wiped out. The next time you run calibre this directory will be rebuilt fresh. If you want to start out totally fresh also uninstall calibre and install the latest version via the binary install method here. How did you originally install 0.7.42? |
