These look great - thanks for sharing!
![]() I like that the expiry date is all the way to Apr 30; most of their codes expire after a couple of days |

No probs; the '30% till Apr 30' one did seem a bit too good to be true

Thank you! (Those $1-off coupons are a great way to get $0.89-books for free!)

1. Click on "Buy Now" link
2. About a third of the way down the sceen, click on "Redeem any gift cards or promo codes" link. 3. Put coupon code in the Promo Code box and click Apply. If an agency book, there will be no Promo Code box. It will say "Due to publisher restrictions Promo codes are not allowed for this product. " Make sure you get a message verifying the coupon code was applied. They will not credit after the fact (regardless of what their tier one customer reps tell you. Been there, done that.) |

You will also need a valid credit card on file and they do a one penny authorization with each book (yes, my credit card was locked up once again, for the third time in a week; I must get one and just use for ebooks, it seems, to stop this interfering when I want to buy gas or eat out.

I have taken to buying gift certificates for myself. Mainly to avoid all the transaction fees which Kobo insists is my bank, but my bank tell me is Kobo.

It's the bank - the card I use has no transaction fees w/ Kobo (another refuses to allow purchases, due to being a non-US company).
But, the penny authorizations are running thru even for free purchases, which is what keeps getting flagged by the credit card company. I don't know if having a gift balance would prevent that activity. |

There's just a single fee when you buy the gift card.
Kobo doesn't run the credit card on file if there is adequate store credit to cover the purchase. At least that has been my experience. |

Well actually it depends on the card. Once you buy a gift card it's a good idea to remove your credit card or you could have a bunch 1 cents transaction pending for each purchase. That's how it is with my debit card but you don't need a CC now if you have store credit.
I pay 2% foreign transaction fee per purchase if I don't use a Kobo gift card it really adds up. Last edited by Blossom; 04-06-2011 at 01:23 AM. |
