Kindle user in Florida

Hi,
I'm Gail in Florida, and I've had a Kindle since last June. I absolutely love my Kindle, but I'm getting frustrated that I can't read e-books from my local library on it. My library only provides Adobe Digital format, '.acsm' files, and I haven't been able to determine a way to convert them to Kindle format, so I'm thinking about buying another e-reader just for library books. Any recommendations?

Hi Gail and welcome to MobileRead. The library books are DRM protected so I don't think you can convert them

Good to have your company, Gail. Yup, I'm afraid you'd have to (illegally) strip the library's DRM padlock to convert borrowed ebooks to Mobi format for your Kindle. Best wishes. Neil

Annoying these little leaps we have to make to read what we want to read and on what !

Hi, welcome to MR from the Netherlands. It look as thought you'll have to buy an ereader that can read DRM-protected epub. Look further in this thread where several ereaders are reviewed. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=123
