PRS-950 Before I buy

Hi,

Can someone please answer some of my doubts about the Sony PRS-950:

1: Can I install, on the ebook, a English-Portuguese dictionary?

2: Can I organize my books by folder?

3: If I can't do this two things can I do it with the kindle?

The reason I'm asking this is because I what to buy an ereader and love the ideia of the touch screen on the sony, but if I can´t have a portuguese dictionary or organize my books by folder I will think better and consider buying a kindle instead. What do you think I should do?

1. No.
2. You can put your files into folders but the reader will ignore them and show all books in one big list. You can, however, use collections to group books.
3. It seems you can install extra dictionaries on the Kindle but I don't know if a Portuguese one is available. The folder situation is the same as on Sony.

I think I will go for the sony =P

The reader has an English-Spanish dictionary installed, even though it is not perfect for you, it should be helpful, too.

If you want to make using collections easy, use Calibre. I use manual Metadata management and it's great.

from the Calibre FAQ:

When you send a book to the reader, calibre will add the book to collections based on the metadata for that book. By default, collections are created from tags and series. You can control what metadata is used by going to Preferences->Advanced->Plugins->Device Interface plugins and customizing the SONY device interface plugin. If you remove all values, calibre will not add the book to any collection.

Collection management is largely controlled by the ‘Metadata management’ option found at Preferences->Import/Export->Sending books to devices. If set to ‘Manual’ (the default), managing collections is left to the user; calibre will not delete already existing collections for a book on your reader when you resend the book to the reader, but calibre will add the book to collections if necessary. To ensure that the collections for a book are based only on current calibre metadata, first delete the books from the reader, then resend the books. You can edit collections directly on the device view by double-clicking or right-clicking in the collections column.

Anyone know why all the stores that sell the prs 950, internationally, are out of stock?
