Gmail images on K3

Hey y'all.

I gave up trying to get the K2 out of my wife's hands, so I just ran out an got myself a K3. Yea!

Anyone use GMail on the K3? On the K2, we could use a very simple mobile view of gmail, and if there was an image in the email, we click on it and it opened the image in full screen glory.

On the K3, the mobile view of gmail is quite different, and while small thumbnail images appear inline in the message, I can't get to a larger view of the pic. If I click on the thumbnail, I get an error that says the browser can't do multiple windows.

Anyone know how to either get the simpler mobile view (the option on the new view to 'use older version' is not what I mean), or some other way to see images in the messages?

Also...any good reason to go to the 3.0.3 firmware?

Thanks!

Sorry normally I'd try to offer more help with this type of question but I'm currently not at home and I don't have my Kindle with me to test anything out.

However, if you pop over to the link to my website below, you'll find an article on gmail with several different ways of logging in (didn't test pictures sorry) and maybe one of these might be better for you.

Note that I cannot guarantee they will work if you're not on the 3.0.3 update:

Thanks. I tried most of those links, and I can access them all both on 3.0.2 and 3.0.3.
None solve my image problem, though.

I also noticed that I get the same "can't open multiple widows" error if I try to follow a link to forum messages in some forum's notification email.

I can't figure out why, if the K3 browser can't open links in other windows, it doesn't simply retarget then to open in the same windows instead?

Obviously K3 has a more capable browser than the K2, but this seems like serious step backward in practical usablility.
