PRS-950 Memory Stick Problem

I've had a Sony 2gb pro duo for about 6 months and it's worked fine up until recently. Both my 505 and my 950 just endlessly give me the Formatting screen when the memory stick is in. I have to pull it out for either reader to get back to the home screen.

Is there any problem if I just reformat my memory stick in Windows and start over again?

I would give it a try, but you will certainly lose what is on the stick if you haven't already.
