Root not Working. Help Please
My Nook Color has the 1.0.1 update.
I have followed the NookDev steps word for word, using the auto-nooter-2.12.25.img file. When I get to the point of power down, plug in uSD, then plug usb cable into my computer, it does the expected light flash on the cable, it pops up the windows device installer screen (which I cancel out of). I also get a popup on from the task icon area saying device was not installed correctly and may not work property, which I assume is also fine, as it is related to the lack of drivers being installed. Then it just sits there, black screen. I have left if there for up to an hour (although one post said it should only take 45 seconds). I saw another post saying that his did not reboot on its own, so he manually rebooted and worked fine. I tried this. Nothing works. Each time, when I unplug, remove the SD card, and reboot, it just boots up as if I hadn't done anything. No different splash screen, no change. I tried factory reset and deregister, but still the same result. Why won't the root work? Help please. |

The SD card must be in the NookColor when it restarts. (Essentially, you're installing the rooted image from the SD card at boot-up)

I don't think autonooter will affect your windows computer (it doesn't help you install any drivers on your computer). It sounds like the SD card hasn't been property created, especially if the Nook appears to boot normally. I would walk through the steps to put the autonooter image on the card again.
As a suggestion, you might try this suggestion below as an alternative. It won't root your Nook, but it should boot your nook w/ android 2.2. You should use the same steps to create the SD card as autotnooter. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...5&postcount=10 that will help you confirm you are creating the sd card properly. |
