E-reader problem
Hello!
I have a really nasty problem with my e-reader Prestigio PER3162B - I was reading a regular pdf and the screen blocked! I can't turn it off, it does not do any other command and when I try to recharge it from my laptop, it doesn't show anything being on it - even worse, when I plug the cable in my laptop, TWO disks appear (Removable Disk: E and F), but if i click on them, it says "Please insert a disk into drive E". I had it for 6 months - it was new. Did anybody else encounter this problem with any other ebook reader? It's so awful without it... |

I have another question : does the ebook reader consume energy when I don't turn pages? I read it works this way, but mine used to discharge at night even if i didn't read.

I will assume you have already tried resetting the device by pressing the reset button on the back. Didn't work? I am only shooting in the dark here but try this -- open the back and disconnect the battery for a few moments, then connect it again. Several people that have the Pandigital Novel have reported that doing this restored a device that appeared to be bricked. Good luck.
About the battery, from what I know about e-ink screens, it should consume power only when you *turn* pages or play music. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. |

The SCREEN only consumes power when you turn a page, but an eBook reader is a computer - the CPU, memory, etc, all use power. Not much, but some.

thanks a lot for your answers.
fortunately, I got scared for nothing - I pressed the reset button with a very narrow lead, it didn't do anything and then i closed it and now it works. This after staying stucked for more than 4 hours trying to reset it or at least to close it. I have no idea why it worked now, but I'm glad I have my e-reader back again ![]() After I managed to close it, my laptop recognizes its contents just like before. |
