PRS-505 PRS-505 An Odd Thing

Hi there. I am sure it is just a setting somewhere, but I can't fix it.

Whenever I turn on my reader and resume reading, it brings up the page that I started at, the previous time I started my reader.

If I read pages 200-220, shut off my reader, and restart it, it will take me back to 200. I then need to go to my history, last read, and go to 220. I read more, and when I start up again, it starts at 220.

Any ideas?

Do you mean turn it on, or wake it from Sleep Mode? According to the User's Guide the previously displayed screen is supposed to appear when turned on by sliding the POWER switch from this state, and that is what mine does (firmware version 1.2.00.18050). What format is the e-book that you're having difficulty with? Which of the three zoom settings?

I understand that it should open on the last screen read when it was turned off.
What is happening however is something different. I knew it would be a bit hard to explain.
When I turn it on, wake it from sleep, it reverts to the page that I started the last session with, not the one I ended with.

If you turn it off and it returns to an earlier reading session, what happens if you then turn it off again and then back on? Cheers. Neil

I see the same thing in my 505. If you turn it off, using the slide switch, it comes back at the right place. If you let it "die" and turn itself off, it comes back way back in the book. I also have the PIN set, which I don't think makes a difference. I use a Bookmark, and always menu back to the Bookmarks page.

It didn't use to do this, but after the ePub fix this "feature" has been the default.

Does the problem persist after pressing reset?

damn, it started happening again. I am going to turn off the lock and see if it stops happening.

Press reset after turning off the lock, then you'll be testing with a clean slate, so-to-speak.
