Thoughts on Nook freebies?

What do you guys think of the coupons offered for the B&N cafes on the Nook? How frequent are they offered, and can you use them anytime/everytime you are in a B&N store? Do you have any general thoughts/comments on these? Thanks!

I bought my Nook Color yesterday and while testing it in the store, saw the coupon. Hubby tried to use it, but the B&N by our house has a Starbucks cafe, so it's not applicable. BUT...I have no clue where there is a NON-Starbucks B&N cafe (annoying) and won't drive 30 mins just to get a smoothie.

Be nice if the damn coupon was useful at the B&N's I go to...grrr.

Nook Color is purdy though. (Battery life seems to kinda suck, tho)

Oh, that's odd! I thought that the only cafes that B&Ns have are the Starbucks ones?

I have used a few of the coupons. I have gotten 3 of the free smoothies and picked up a whole cheesecake with the $10 off coupon. I would like to see more and a wider variety of coupons.

I've never heard of a Starbucks in B&N. Every B&N coffee shop that I've been in has a Starbucks-like decor and serves Starbucks coffee but the are not a Starbucks coffee shop and don't accept Starbucks gift cards in payment.

On the topic of nook specials, i've used them twice so far and they've honored them... Pretty nice.

Some B&N's have an attached Starbucks, and some have a B&N Cafe that serves Starbucks coffee. If you have to pay for your books before you can go get some coffee, that's a Starbucks. If you can browse books you haven't bought while you drink your coffee, that's a B&N Cafe.

Starbucks doesn't accept B&N coupons and gift cards, and the B&N Cafe doesn't accept Starbucks gift cards.

Ones here never had cafes until Borders added cafes to their stores. I always just assumed that they were just part of the store and another way for them to make more money, although I personally had no interest in them.

I have two stores by me. One has the separate Starbucks, the other has a B&N cafe that serves Starbucks.

I got a couple of the cookies and the Godiva chocolate samples, but I passed on the smoothie because I wasn't in the mood for mango or raspberry. I also got the various books that were free with the coupons handed out at the B&N store, and the various free books from the website (except for the 3 weeks when I was out of the country ).

Hi, all. I'm new to the Nook products. Are the in-store coupons just for sweets and smoothies? Do they ever have tea or coffee? Do they give discounts on other items in the store like books, calendars, games, etc? Thanks in advance.

I use my coupons at the "starbuck B&N Cafe" all the time, is it a regional issue?

They had a free tall coffee earlier this year for a few days.

Ooh thanks for all the input, folks I got the smoothie that just ended today, and am hoping they have some more coffee coupons!

Oh, and Bookworm _Girl -- I haven't had my Nook long enough to answer you! But I'm sure we can check in now and then once a few more coupons have popped up, now that the smoothie one is finished!

Is there any way to find out what these deals are without walking into the store? (To know if it's worth it ahead of time).
