new to sony couple of questions
Currenlty I have a kobo that I really like but because I like gizmos and the sony has a few features that I would like I am thinking about getting a second ereader.
A couple of questions: can you download books from the sd card to the main memory? how hard is it to set your sony back to factory? One of the things I like about the kobo is that it is easy to replace all the files back to factory. How easy is it to turn pages using the touch screen? Is it sensitive enough or do you prefer to use the left handed buttons to change pages? Thanks |

I do not use the SD card and someone may have better information, but I don't think you can move books from the SD card to the Reader's internal memory through the device itself. I believe these transfers can only be done via the computer. When there are books on an SD card these books should have a separate notification telling you where they are stored.
Sony Readers have a factory reset under settings in the main menu. Someone may know if the original excerpts are restored when doing a factory reset. I find the touch screen to be very responsive. I mostly use the page turn buttons as my normal reading style it to hold it in my left hand and read one-handed. The times I do use the touch screen swipe to turn pages, it is very quick and responsive. The Sony has an included stylus as well. |

Not directly, no -- you'd need to have your SD card in your computer for that. The books on the card appear along with the ones on the Sony's internal memory in the main listing, and collections, but have a small "SD" logo attached to the thumbnail. The SD card books do not appear in a separate place/section; they're integrated.
Never done the factory thing, sorry! The touch screen is quite sensitive -- you don't actually need to "touch" the screen at all, but trigger the motion sensors; I use both touch screen and buttons, though more the touch screen feature for page turning. Very easy to set it back to factory. Just go to settings and choose "Restore Defaults". The touch screen is amazingly sensitive. You need very little pressure. It's about the same pressure that I use to swipe pages on my Droid X. I usually swipe, but if my hand is in the right position and I remember to use the buttons, then I'll use them, but very rarely do. |

Actually Sol, you don't need any pressure at all, it isn't a pressure sensitive touch screen on any of the x50s, they use infrared sensors at sides of the screen.
How soon to Kno day, interested to hear your opinions once in your hands... |

Delivery is said to take place on the 12th and should arrive on the 14th. My bday is the 13th. So it went from a xmas present to a bday present. School started today, so hopefully I'll be fine without for the next few days. They did offer to pay for any rentals that I needed. After looking at my schedule, I think I can managed without till next Friday.
