Talking Woohoo!!! Kindle 3G for Christmas!!!

I'm such a happy lad today. Santa brought me a beautiful Kindle. I'm smitten after spending the last hour or so playing with it. What a fabulously designed bit of kit. I am so, so impressed. Well done Amazon! Now I understand why there are so many good reviews and fanboys (and girls )

Expect loads of stupid noob questions from yours truly to be posted very soon.

I'm glad I took notice of you guys when I asked for help choosing what to ask for. The Kindle is fab.

Congrats, I picked one up for my wife because she's been drooling over mine.

Mrs Claus had a surprise for Santa here too...
Of course since she used my account to buy the thing I've known for a while and have been amassing ebooks and software, much of which has been recommended here.

My converted comic books (to pdf) work great. Faster than I expected.

I have spent the whole afternoon and evening messing with the Kindle, Calibre and various ebooks, with mostly great results when converting. It's been a really fun day and I can see I'm going to get a lot of mileage out of Amazon's wonderful gadget.

My first noob question is going to be about collections. Whoever designed them on the Kindle needs a good talking to.

beomagi - I'm glad you got comics to work and thanks for mentioning it. I have quite a few comics and hadn't seriously considered attempting to put them on my Kindle until you posted that.

Do yourself a big favor, buy a tough protective cover.

Slipped and fell on ice yesterday. Kindle didn't break, but the screen was covered in vertical and horizontal lines. Amazon said they'll replace it no charge, overnight shipping and free postage to return the original. Also in the mail - lighted amazon cover (ok, that's MY purchase).

Great service and support - also a plus, their call center sounds like it's based in the US (and I'm mostly Indian...)

I'm glad you got that sorted beomagi! I'd have been really upset. Amazon are very impressive when it comes to customer service. It would be nice if other companies did the same.

I posted earlier today in another thread that I've got a decent case for my Kindle. Oh happy days
