yes i have been lurking for a while. it is very informative. i just got a kindle in november and am trying to figure it all out. i am soooo disappointed about the library books. i wish i could just get downloads from my library. oh well i am sure that you all hear this to often. but thank you all for the great posts.

Welcome to MR! There are still plenty of free books out there for the Kindle (check out the sticky thread here in the kindle forum), and you can always sideload free books from places like smashwords. Or, I hear Amazon has a good return policy- you could go for a different brand of reader if you'd rather. In any case, enjoy your ereading adventure!
