Thanks for posting this.

I look forward to all of the hands-on reviews. I'll have to wait and purchase late next year. Don't know if it's a wise buy right now.

Yeah, thanks for posting this. I'm excited about this too. However, after hearing about the new Android 2.3 "Gingerbread", and the limited access to the Android market, I'm a whole lot less interested in tablets at this point. Further down the line though I hope to see the Android marketplace open up more and devices start shipping with Gingerbread or the newer versions of Android. With all the new stuff and advantages that will open up, it'll be well worth the wait.

Scion, with that thinking you'll never buy stuff, since you'll know there's always something bigger and better in half a year! Btw you're almost my son in Texas, he has a HD2 (like I do), and he's getting a rooted Nook Color for his birthday this Saturday!

Steven, they're shipping with Gingerbread, as far as I could tell from the website! ANd their own add-on that makes it a bit like Honeycomb as well. In about one hour and 20 minutes I expect an E-mail from India, since I was one of those who registered to comment on that blog rather early. And I will pre order. I don't really give a flying rat's ass about reviews, this thing is so cool that I want to see it for myself as soon as possible! Especially since it's got that Pixel Qi-screen.

In theory I agree. This is an exception because the company has no track record. I'm leary of preordering / ordering something for several hundred dollars without a personal hands-on. I'm willing to chance it from a reputable company with a solid track record of processing returns and refunds efficiently with no hassle.

There are just too many unknowns about how product returns are handled.

Yeah, maybe. Me? I couldn't care less. This is for my company, and if I don't give my money to India, I'll have to give those same money to the Norwegian tax man. I actually would prefer a dicey company before the tax man! Anyway, I don't think they're dicey. The actually seem like true enthusiasts. If this was a scam I don't think they would have taken it this far before they started preordering! I know a good swindle needs a long setup, but this would be ridiculous!

I didn't say anything about a scam. I said processing returns and refunds efficiently with no hassle. That's not the same thing.

I know, I was excaggerating a bit. Different sense of humor, I guess. Maybe I should brush up on my Jeff Foxworthy instead?

I too will be in a holding pattern. I've wanted a large screen reader for sometime and I've also fallen into dislike with my netbook. If I can get a tablet with a Pixel Qi screen, I think my needs will be met on both fronts.

I hesitate because CES is next month and I want to see who else is coming to the party. Also, I'm a fan of WebOS, so I want to see what HP is going to offer.

@Mastiff: No, it was me. I don't want to cast a negative tone on this great news. Just want to clarify my original statement. You're good.

If they could just get a full OS into these tablets, then an app store wouldn't be needed.

Scion, I don't know if I'm good. But I'm not a redneck. I have still not cut my lawn and found a car. And neither my dog nor my wallet are on a chain (actually I don't have a wallet, only a small credit card thingy - not very rednecky either), and I don't pull up my pants when I hear "say no to crack".

Daffy4u, I'm tired of waiting! This is the closest I have gotten to somethign that will fit me, after three no shows (beginning with the Plastic Logic Pro Reader, which I was ready to fork out for when the dates started to slip...and went into oblivion). Anything shown at CES is probably not coming any time soon.

I feel your pain, I was burned by the Plastic Logic Que disappearing act as well.

I'm glad you're jumping in because I look forward to what you have to say about it. My netbook will be showing up on eBay soon to help finance whatever I end up purchasing.
