Total Lunar Eclipse Beginning EST
If you're still awake in the US and Canada, the moon is red for the next hour or so til 4am.
Then it moves on the the western part of the continent. |

It would have been a sight here... The moon was setting when it was full. If there only there had been something to see: it was foggy!

Cloudy where I live, but some good views from some parts of the UK, judging by the live pictures on the breakfast news.

Unfortunately it was cloudy when I woke up at 2:30AM to watch it, so I didn't see anything. Sigh!

It was a clear night for me and a beautiful night sky.

I managed to see a good portion of the early stages, but just about the time it reached totality the clouds thickened up and that was the end of it for me. I guess I shouldn't complain though, because according to the news it was supposed to be too cloudy to see anything at all!

It was a little over 50% scalloped when I last looked about 2:30 am.
It was cloudy, but the breeze was moving the clouds fairly rapidly, so it didn't try my patience to wait for cloud breaks. It was as white as ever though, not in the least bit red. |
