Thanks for the 1.8 update

I thougth that this deserved its own thead so that it doesnt get burried in all of the other posts.

Afterall there seems to be no shortage of threads griping about this, that ,or the other.

At any rate

Thank you to kobo for a painless and welcome firmware update it has worked very well for me
thank you also to Taming and the other beta testers her take time away from thier,lives,family and reading to help the rest of us with our Kobos

Merrry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Add my thanks to that as well. Great to have had this sorted before Christmas. Now I just have to find some time to get through that mountain of ebooks that I have bought!

Taming, you have been so patient with all of us. Thanks for helping out and posting your feedback and tips.

Merry Christmas from New Zealand (where we'll be at the beach, having a barbeque and generally enjoying the hot summer!)

Well, the update happened to hit just at the right time. I started a four week holiday shortly before it was released and we have been buying so many books, we had no money to use to go someplace warm.

Thanks is due for sure! I haven't spent a whole lot of time with the update yet (there's the weekend for that), but just having the book cover back on my screen makes it worth the wait.

Although the upgrade wasn't flawless for me, all is fine now.. Thanks to the Kobo Team and a special thanks for all the Beta Testers as well.

Now I got a book to read... Bye for now

I would like to thank KOBO as well, It is a very good update.
I like that you can view rtf and txt docs as well as web pages. The dictionary will not perform on public domain epubs but i am sure it will be extended in time. Still cannot go to a particular page number but it is bound to be on the to-do list.

Btw I was on a train in Denmark in late July with my wife and my Kobo. When I went to the dining car to get a snack a man asked if I was Canadian. I asked how he knew, and he told me he also owns a Kobo
