compatible inputs for Calibre

How can I get a .doc file into Calibre? Is there a converter to change .doc documents to something that Calibre will accept?

Options:
1) Word: save as filtered HTML
2a) Open Office/Libre Ofice: Save as ODT
2b) Open Office/Libre Office with the Writer2EPUB plugin: Use the plugin to save as EPUB

Thanks. Actually the original is ODT. I didn't know there was an ePub plugin for ePub. I haven't had much luck in getting plugins; I keep getting errors saying the site in unavailable, but I'll try.

I got Writer2epub.

It errors out about 2/3 of the way through with:

BASIC runtime error
object variable not set.

I have great luck when I'm not having bad luck.

It does put out an W2EODT file, but no epub.
