Hacks Is it possible to share the 3G connection of Kindle via WiFi?

Since we have both WiFi and 3G connections on the same device and the 3G connection is free...It will be very convenience under some situation to have Kindle's 3G shared. I think it might be possible after jailbreak?
I was wondering that why iOS devices have such many cool hacking Apps on Cydia after jailbreak, but only such a few hack apps here for us Kindles? We even have the source code of system released...Should it be much more easier?

If you're talking about using the Kindle as a "3G modem" for other devices, don't even THINK about it. The result of doing so will be no more free web browsing for anybody. 3G data traffic costs Amazon real money.

I think they do...The international 3G connection must be expensive, but I'm just asking some possibilities. Also if when you are abroad and your cellphone internet connections are expensive, you may always want to check email or twitter using kindle, but the e-ink screen is really not designed for that...so maybe share it to other device would be a good idea?
And about the developing problem, I think the jailbreakable, linux-based kindle system should be really easy to develop, but is the lack of more applications is caused by weak cpu and small memory?

Techically there is no problem to do 'tethering' with Kindle's 3G. Jailbreak and some modifying of the Linux inside the Kindle will do the job. But it will be illegal and Amazon will deregister your Kindle if they catch you...

Its possible to do but you're restricted to web access only as the Amazon Whispernet network prevents access to any other network ports. Everything has to go via the web proxy servers that Amazon runs. You can't connect to anything directly.

Amazon will notice you doing something strange as your usage patterns will not be the same as a normal Kindle user. You'll be transferring significantly more than usual and downloading content like Flash and Java files which a normal Kindle will never do. If this happens then they're going to ban your Kindle and possibly your account at which point your "free" 3G connection will cost you $189. That doesn't sound like a very good deal to me :P

It's a lovely dream but I'm fairly sure that Amazon is converting the web server side into black and white low quality compressed webpages and then sending the reduced internet to the kindle. Similar to what skyfire does for people with slow connections. So even if you worked out how to tether your laptop to it you would not get anything useful, just their private low quality version of the internet in some compressed kindle language.

Admittedly I have zero proof of this but its logical and its hard to see why Amazon would be doing it any other way. They are hardly going to be sending full quality, big sized and colour internet pages to kindles and then having them convert it on the fly.

The only hope is that Amazons deal makes people ask why mobile phone firms, with their global networks, can't offer global connection deals? But given that USA mobile provider cheerfully get away with charging two or three times what the rest of the world pays I wouldn't count on it.

I like how they edit out the link, when the author of the blog got the info of how to do it from this very forum. Well anyways, it's possible, it's easy to do, it's been done before, and it's largely been done due to people @ this forum.

Doing it wouldn't kill the feature for anyone. Amazon would just block the offenders. It's really easy to tell what's what from the bandwidth data.

Having the always on 3G is something Amazon wants its Kindle owners to have. That's why they (likely) subsidize it.

Yes, There are plenty of other true smartphones which has tethering and we have internet connections in so many places. I am sure Amazon has easy way to observing this, when they see spike in transfer more than normal. There are packet analyzers and top talkers which can push such users to high list very soon.
