Canadian bookstore choices
Hi all,
So I see that despite Sony's claims of more books for Canada, the Reader store still shows many of the books I want as being unavailable. I don't know why they bother -- there are 4 screens worth of titles for some authors, but only two available books. Are there other places to look? I see that Kobo has some of the titles of interest, but it's not clear to me whether they work in Canada. Does Kobo work with the Sony readers, and provide software that works on a Mac? Thanks in advance, Nike |

Hi, Nike. Kobo is a Canadian company. It's the ebook spinoff from Chapters / Indigo so I would expect them to be one of the largest and best sources for ebooks in Canada.
I buy ebooks from Kobo to read on my Sony since they also sell to the US. I am a Mac user too (still using OS X Leopard). Sony makes software called Reader Library which transfers both Sony and Kobo ebooks to your ereader. It is similar to how Apple iTunes transfers music to an iPod. |
