Converting Sony to Nook

I'm sure this is addressed somewhere but if someone can help? Calibre doesn't work.

If you mean using Sony books on the nook, I thought you didn't have to convert as nook reads the sony epubs?

If you mean you have some old Sony e-books in BBeB format (.LRF, etc.), you need to re-download them from Sony. That will give you Adobe EPUB format, which NOOK can use.

Don't you have to go through Adobe Digital Editions first though?

I just did this. I went into my account and re-downloaded all of the books that were in the old Sony format to epub, all you need to do is go to your purchased books and click download. Next, once you've downloaded it, plug your Nook into your PC and go here http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/#fp and select the brown "Launch" button towards the bottom to start the Adobe Digital Editions. Once it starts up you should see your nook listed in there and it should prompt you that it found a new device and will want to know if you would like to authorize it, select yes. Once it's done, you can just go to your ereader library on your hard drive (located in "My Documents" -> "My Books" -> "Reader Library") and copy the books you want to your nook to the "My Files" -> "Books" folder (it has to go here) . The files should end in .epub. Once you do that, you can start your Nook and they should appear in your Library.

The the minor limitations I have found so far that I am trying to see if there is a fix: 1. Books you copy over from the ereader store from Sony will not have the graphic book cover, only a generic typed word cover. 2. Can't add them to the home page on the Nook.

I hope this helps you.

I wish

I thought so too. On the newer ones but I'm getting a 'you're not logged in to that account'

So if Adobe digital editions update will download that will convert them?

I keep getting a loop on that site, my copy is old.

Use the Sony eReader store program, don't go directly to the ereader site. Once in there click in the left hand pane the "eBook Store". In the right hand pane you should be brought to the main site of the reader store. Look at the top towards the left hand side you will see a sign in link, click it and sign into your Reader store account. Once you're logged in click on the "My Account" link that will be in the same spot. Once you're in your "My Account" Page, look towards the middle where it is titled "My Library", click on the "View / Download purchased eBooks" link. If you have alot of books to download again, scroll to the bottom and check off the "Check all on this page" then click on the "Download all checked" button.

You have to do this through the sony program. If you don't have the latest edition installed, go here : http://ebookstore.sony.com/download/

The Adobe Digital Edition will not convert files to epub, it only allows you to authorize up to 6 devices to use the epub file on.
