Battery for PRS700

Hi all,

I've had my PRS700 for a couple of years now, & it's been brilliant, just what I wanted.

Last week the battery started to drain very quickly, even after a 6hour charge. I wondered if it was possible to buy a new battery for it, & if so from where.

I'm in the uk & the 700 was never an official model here afaik.

I can on most occasions use it plugged in, so if all else fails I can do that, just negates the portability of it.

Any thoughts?

The replacement battery is available from Sony Parts and Accessories. US$76.15

There may be cheaper a knock-off available.

There is a youtube video on how to replace the battery on the PRS-505 which might show you how complicated the procedure may be.

Is the 500/505 battery the same spec.?

They seem more available in UK.

Humm, the battery company don't supply the UK.

Also 500/505 battery won't fit.

I phoned them (NewPower99) to double check. They only ship that product to Canada or US. Sorry.

The product description said it would only fit the PRS-700BC and not the PRS-700. I don't know what the difference between those two models is.
