Would liek to be a calibre user
hi,

a friend told me to use calibre with my new Sony Reader. I use Linux Mint (ubuntu Derivate).
In the repositories i can only find the older version 0.6.2.
But i would like to use the new 0.7.27. But where ..... can i find this.
I am searching for hours....but i think i am totally blind.

You need to visit the calibre forum for questions. As for calibre itself, you can find the newest version via the link in the forum description, or directly at the calibre website. Your proper flavor will be on the download page.

And yes, it rocks the Sony Reader; I have a 505 myself. Calibre also has the fastest updates of any software I've ever seen. If you like it, don't forget to send some money Kovid's way; we users are the only thing standing between him and having to get a real job.

just wonder, why ist so hard to find the latest linux version....or am i the only one to look for the linux version....!?

How is it hard to find the latest Linux version?

You go to the calibre website, go to the download page, and click the penguin. It's right next to the apple and the wavy thing.

Hi,

Yes i clicked the Penguin, i am able to do this. But what to do next. Ok, i have a supported Linux.
Theres nothing to click or further to go...thats it. Maybe i try the Repository, right there is calibre.
BUT a older Version, 6.4.2. Sorry i thought i could use the latest one...

Instead i tried (copy/paste into terminal) the provided Link in the UNsupported Section. Here we go, its installed.

Well, i call this confusing....

Anyway, i got the latest Calibre and want to talk "Books" now.
