Hello Sony CS, Now I Have 2 600s!!!!
Back in August I bought a black 600 on the cheap from Sears. It turned out that the unit wouldn't hold a charge so I called Sony. They would replace it. They only had silver. No, I want black. They told me that it would be a week before they could send me a black 600. OK, I'll wait. 2 weeks later I call back. They still don't have a black 600. I was given the choice of a refurbished black 600, a silver 600, have my unit repaired or request a black 650 as a replacement. Silly me, I choose the black 650, but I would have to wait AGAIN. I waited 2 more weeks. Nothing. Starting to get a bit annoyed I called again. I was assured that I would have a new unit before the end of the week with everything required to return the defective unit AND $20 in gift codes for the reader store. The next day FedEX delivered a nice shiny new black 600. I'm fine with that but want to make sure it works...holds a charge, doesn't fade in the sun. It works as advertised so I box up the defective one and ship it back to Sony. I track the shipment and see that they received it well within the allotted 15 days. I've never heard from them to confirm that they received the package. I've checked my credit card to make sure they hadn't charged me $245 (gulp) for the new 600. Nope. Everything is fine...as far as I know.
Well, while I was sitting here typing about ordering a 350 from Dell a bit ago FedEX delivers a package. I've not ordered anything so I ask who from thinking it's not for me. He says from Sony to my first name. No last name. I open the box and nestled securely in a mountain of bubble wrap is my defective unit. On the back there's a big yellow dot, a small gold dot that says "QA Passed" and two stickers with what I assume are the serial number and work order dated 10/22. That is the day after they received it. So, now I have 2 600s sitting here. I tried to call Sony to see what's going on but the computer said "due to unusually call volume, the wait....yada, yada, yada". After 15 minutes I hung up, checked with my credit card again and then plugged it in to see if it acted any differently. Still charging. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, how big a pain is it going to be to straighten this out? |

Maybe you can negotiate with them to give you one 650 in return for both 600s
