"isoformat" error?

I've been having difficulties with ePub downloaded books, both from Project Gutenberg and MobileRead's library, when I try to transfer them to iTunes. They keep complaining about errors having to do with "isoformat" or lack thereof.

How do I fix that?

ETA: I think I may have a solution, but I really don't understand why it (seems to) work. I ran the offending ePub books through Calibre conversion, going into ePub format. I thought the software would either flatly refuse to do it or I'd get a dialogue box asking if I'm out of my mind.

Calibre was kind enough to just do the conversion, and the books successfully transferred to iTunes.

I've reported this as an error, Ticket #7356 (#http://bugs.calibre-ebook.com/ticket/7356). I can confirm that reconversion from EPUB to EPUB in Calibre works as a workaround.

Wait, you have problems with ePubs you download from the net, correct them using Calibre and report that as a bug? You might want to report to the publishers instead that their book isn't working with iTunes.
In short, if I understood correctly what this thread is about, that is no Calibre bug and the ticket is, well, very out of place.

No, importing the files directly to iTunes works, so it's not an iTunes problem per se. Only importing them from Calibre fails. In any case the bug has been closed as fixed, thanks Kovid!
