Any ideas on how to get titles to show up in a different format?
I forgot about this problem but you guys are good so, is there any way to get the titles I load in to show up in the same way that the pre-loaded books appear? If you look at most of their books, they have a two part title with the author and they get the whole thing on the screen. I tried to match the format of their title exactly but no go. Maybe there is a trick you can think of. While I am at it, is there any way to add additional fonts to view epubs? The two included in my JBL are almost the same or possibly they do not impact most of my titles.
thanks. |

I have never been sure that I have got this aspect of the JBL's functioning down
correctly. First, keep in mind that there have been many changes because of the change in reading programs and their settings in the various firmware releases. What I am guessing as the way it works, based on very limited experimentation, is as follows: 1. It depends on the file format. 2. It depends on the construction of the file and any metadata. 3. It depends on the construction of the file's name, for some formats. 4. It may also depend on the file format of the memory (SD card &/or internal memory) For .txt files like the pre-loaded ebooks, a special character (the pound sign "#") is used to separate the author and title in the file name. For the other file formats, I have had mixed results, but at times it depends on the Metadata and other times on the construction of the file name. I have not found a consistent answer that works all the time, for any format. (But I haven't spent a lot of time on this issue.) The 0.16e version of the firmware with the Adobe Reader Mobile appears to be using other (embedded?) fonts for the .epub, as they are different from the sans serif JBL fonts. I drag books into Calibre, then click the edit Meta data and make sure the title and author are correct, find a nice cover and then save or convert to epub. I usually only add one or two books at a time and the minutes it takes to edit are worth it to me.
